A KING CELEBRATION — Decatur-born operatic soprano Indra Thomas joins the ASO (led by guest conductor Andre Raphel Smith) and the glee clubs from Spelman and Morehouse colleges for this 10th annual musical celebration in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Thomas performs Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915. Other works on the program include Michael Abel’s Dance for Martin’s Dream, Mario Abril’s Migrations (narrated by NPR’s Korva Coleman) and Roland Carter’s Hold Fast to Dreams, based on Langston Hughes’ poems. NPR broadcasts the concert nationally Mon., Jan. 21; it can be heard locally at 9 a.m. on 88.1 FM. International Chapel/Morehouse (Sarig)
