Frosty fiction

Break out your long johns for Creative Loafing's 2006 Fiction Contest Party, presented in partnership with the Chattahoochee Review JAN. 5. The theme of this year's contest is "ice," a chilly inspiration that the three winning authors have frozen into many forms both meteorological and metaphorical. In addition to readings by the authors, the event features an ice cave installation by the arts collective Golden Blizzard and music by OperaHouse, a new group that combines DJ spinnin' with live improvised opera vocals. Free. 7-9 p.m. Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery, 290 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Suite 8. 404-522-0655.
