FunkJazz Kafé Scrapbook: 1994-2007
July 7, 2011
Before Andre 3000 became a recluse, before Cee Lo became a household name, before Erykah Badu, Common and Jill Scott became Hollywood commodities, they all found kinship at FunkJazz Kafe. As the alternative music and arts festival emerged in throughout the 90s, the future stars of Atlanta soul (Dionne Farris, India.Arie, Donnie) came of age while legends of British soul (Caron Wheeler, Loose Ends, Omar) became mainstays. It's what makes this gallery part musical archaeology, part family photo album.
