When Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring" arrives at the High Museum of Art on Sun., June 23, as part of the exhibit Girl with a Pearl Earring: Dutch Paintings from the Mauritshuis, it'll be the first time the iconic 17th-century painting has come to the United States in more than 15 years. The partnership with the Mauritshuis highlights some of the Hague museum's finest works from the Dutch and Flemish Golden Age. The 35-painting exhibit includes a variety of still lifes and portraits from notable fellow Dutch painters such as Carel Fabritius, Rembrandt van Rijn, Jan Steen, and Jacob van Ruisdael.
