For Sheila Pree Bright's Girls, Grillz, and Guns, the award-winning local photographer combined work from her Plastic Bodies and Gold Rush II series, as well as a new series in the works, High Definition. Bright portrays iconic contemporary images of the Barbie doll and ghetto-fabulous bling to highlight contemporary notions of beauty while simultaneously addressing urban culture's association with violence and firearms in this three-part exhibition. Part of the National Black Arts Festival. Opening reception July 13, 7 p.m.; artist talk July 17, 2 p.m., in conjunction with the Westside Art Walk.
