Go get High

Art

It certainly is no secret: The big news this weekend is the Nov. 12 grand opening of the expanded High Museum. And in celebration, there is a slew of events, entertainment and general fanfare. Festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with performances by the Southwest DeKalb High School Marching Band, and WSB-TV/Channel 2 anchor Monica Kaufman singing the national anthem. It's free admission all weekend, making it the perfect opportunity to check out the museum's inaugural exhibition, Andrew Wyeth: Memory & Magic. Live music, art-making activities and much more round out the fanfare. See cover story. Free. Sat., 10 a.m.--midnight; Sun., 10 a.m.-- 8 p.m. 1280 Peachtree St. 404-577-HIGH. www.high.org.
