See & Do - Holiday: Haunted Houses October 24 2007

Wed., Oct. 31

Haunted houses exploit phobias and terrorize the innocent all in the name of a good time. Here are four of the scariest the metro area has to offer for Halloween. Voted one of “America’s Best Haunted Attractions” by Hauntworld magazine, NETHERWORLD (pictured) taps into man’s primal fears with earthquakes, mechanized death and claustrophobic haunts. Crazy granny waits at the PSYCHO SHACK, while CREEPERS takes visitors to a disease-ravaged town and into a sanitarium to mingle with the spirits of the insane. Back for a fourth year, 13 STORIES has chain-saw-wielding lunatics and an outdoor attraction called Bunker 13. Netherworld: Through Nov. 3. $18-$50. Daily, 7 p.m.-midnight.
