It takes a whole village

Since its debut 50 years ago at the Brussels World Fair, the BAYANIHAN PHILIPPINE NATIONAL DANCE COMPANY has been wowing audiences with its graceful and brightly colored performances. Bayanihan comes from the Filipino term bayan, meaning nation or town, and pertains to the idea of communal unity. The dance company demonstrates its unified spirit through interpretive dances inspired by the Philippines' rich, folkloric traditions. With Asian, Spanish and Islamic influences (to simply name a few), the group's NOV. 27 performance expresses the unique diversity that only a country with more than 7,000 islands could possess. $10-$38. 8 p.m. Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St. 404-881-2100.
