Jeff Francoeur grew up in Lilburn, where he led Parkview High Schools baseball team to the state championship in 2002. Today, hes the starting right fielder for his hometown team, the Atlanta Braves:
The first Braves game I ever saw, Bob Horner hit four home runs. It was 86 and I was 2 years old.
I cant remember the first Braves game I saw at Turner Field. But the game I remember was in 98 against the Indians in a preseason game. Me and my buddies sat out in the outfield. It was a year after Kenny Lofton left the Braves to go back to the Indians, and we yelled at him the whole game.
To be able to play here as a professional, that is so cool just because I grew up here. The first time I stepped on the field, I remember looking up at the stands and thinking how cool it was and how big the stadium was and how it was just a dream come true. And my first hit at Turner Field was a home run. Thats something Ill always remember.
