Labor Day fun

Holiday

For lovers of all things comic book, fantasy and anime, Labor Day weekend means only one thing: Dragon*Con. The big draw is the sci-fi parade that annually brings all things stormtrooper, borg and Klingon to downtown Atlanta. See Arts, p. 51. Parade begins at 10 a.m. on Sat., Sept. 3. For other events, visit www.dragoncon.com.

BLACK GAY PRIDE features erotic spoken word, candlelight vigils, a marketplace, film festival and a fashion show, all designed to bring unity to the community. For schedule of weekend events and other information, visit www.inthelifeatl.com.

Labor Day is always a great chance to get outdoors and visit some of Georgia's beautiful state parks. AMICALOLA FALLS offers an Outdoor Skills and Recreation Weekend, featuring spelunking, wildlife photography, camping, trout fishing, canoeing and hiking. Visit gastateparks.org for more information.
