Culture Surfing - Laura Moody’s Top Five

From Paste magazine to the Beltline

As the director of communication and exhibitions at downtown’s Museum of Design Atlanta, Laura Moody hobnobs with architects and design junkies, and curates the occasional exhibition, like the acclaimed traveling show of concert posters Graphic Noise.</
1) Paste magazine: “This Decatur music magazine features great reviews of the latest in music, film and culture.”</
2) The Inman Park Festival: “A favorite Atlanta tradition, this April 28-30 festival boasts a parade and hundreds of marketplace booths selling pretty much everything imaginable.”</
3) www.threadless.com: “Web visitors vote for their favorite T-shirt designs and the winners are printed as limited editions.”</
4) 1180 Peachtree: “Can a building be an indicator of culture? This eye-catching new skyscraper at 14th and Peachtree [the one with the Batman ears] designed by Pickard Chilton isn’t just eye-candy: It is the first double LEED- [Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design] certified office building in Atlanta.”</
5) The Beltline: “We’ve been hearing about it for a long time, but this project will continue to dominate conversations in Atlanta for years to come.”
