This place says "special" on a grand scale. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and gorgeous Dahlonega scenery, the food, service and wine list are on par with some of Atlanta's best restaurants. Chef Steven Hartman's style is a crossbreed of upscale hotel dining and the more mellow influences of New Southern. Perfectly crisp sweetbreads with turnips and smoked blueberries showcase Hartman's talent for beautifully composed, painstakingly thought-out combinations. When it comes to desserts, Hartman's touch is flawless. Montaluce's own wines are affordable and infinitely drinkable, but if you decide that dinner calls for something else, the mainly Italian list holds many serious wines for your consideration.
