Lecture: Evolver spore

Wed., July 15

The financial meltdown has prompted debate and inquiry across the nation, much of which has centered around the question of how to fix a clearly broken system. Atlanta's chapter of global organization Evolver adds to this national debate with a discussion session, or "spore" (a community meet-up named in light of the group's purpose of planting seeds for change). Attendees of this month's spore BEYOND MONEY: WHAT COMES NEXT? will share and discuss possible alternatives to elements of our current financial system, such as time banks and complementary currencies, and touch on ideas from economic theorists like Tom Greco and Bernard Lietaer. Free. 7:30 p.m. ParkGrounds, 142 Flat Shoals Ave. www.evolver.net.
