Let there be laughter

Comedy

State of the world got you down? Lift your spirits June 16-19 at the Tabernacle, where two of comedy's brightest stars -- JIM GAFFIGAN and DAVE CHAPELLE -- are performing their newest stand-up material.

If you don't know him by name, then you might know Gaffigan from Super Troopers, Comedy Central or his ongoing series of commercials for Sierra Mist. The Indiana native thrives on being a lazy man of the people who finds humor in the mundane, so expect his JUNE 16 performance to be laid-back and full of clever takes on everyday life. See Arts.

If you don't know Dave Chappelle, then you might want to join the rest of us on planet Earth. He's quietly been making surprise appearances at comedy clubs across America over the last year, trying out new material to rave reviews. Now he's turned it into one stellar act that he's bringing to the ATL JUNE 17-19.

Jim Gaffigan: $34.75. 7:30 p.m. Dave Chappelle: $65. Sat.-Mon., 7 and 10:30 p.m. Both: 152 Luckie St. 404-659-9022. www.livenation.com.
