Sister Act

Toni Braxton's younger sis is facing criminal charges in Gwinnett County. Last week, Duluth resident Towanda Braxton-Carter was charged with forgery and theft-by-receiving. She recently appeared on the TV series "Starting Over" and was a member of singing group the Braxtons.

Big Mable

The Blind Boys of Alabama, Patty Loveless, and Boyz II Men are among the acts scheduled to play Mable House Amphitheatre this season. Others include David Sanborn, Cab Calloway, Edwin McCain, Sinbad, and Jesse McCartney. For details and schedule, see www.mablehouseamphitheatre.com.

Puff 'n' ride

The Cigar Store Indians will play an important label showcase gig in Nashville at the historic Exit/In club March 29. To stock the crowd with rowdy support, they're offering a bus ride to Music City for 50 of the group's most ardent fans. The bus leaves from Roswell, and the whole shebang is only $10 per person plus $5 for a ticket to the show. Beverages are included. More information is available at www.cigarstoreindians.com or e-mail csi@cigarstoreindians.com.
