Proceeds from the sales of the CD will be donated to the Bureau of Cultural Affairs to raise funds for the Atlanta Jazz Festival. Divided We Stand

Divided Like a Saint’s, back from a harrowing and nomadic tour of the United States, has settled (for now) in Atlanta. When the group returned to town late last month, Maryn and Jonathan Vance began rehearsing and living with drummer Russell Brand and are planning a new album early next year, plus another tour to end the calendar year. DLAS has confirmed 21 of its planned 49 dates in November and December. The band plays Lenny’s Thurs., Nov. 3, 10 p.m.

Yes, that Crisco ad in newspapers across the country does indeed feature a picture of Sugarland. Why? Well, the greasy lard company is one of the sponsors of the 39th annual Country Music Association Awards. The ceremony will be held Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden, and yes, Sugarland is one of the performers.

BET celebrated 25 years as the pioneering network for African-Americans with a TV special featuring part-time Atlantan Usher and a slate of other superstars in a production taped at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Oct. 26. If you missed the original broadcast Nov. 1, there’s still time to set those TiVos for rebroadcasts Nov. 4, Nov. 10 and Nov. 24.
