Love is in the air

Holiday

It's Valentine's Day, and whether you're hooked up or happily or unhappily single, we guarantee there's a way to revel in your state -- or lack thereof -- of love.

Forget the battlefield -- love is a boxing ring with bouts only the strongest survive. Whether you're a first-round KO kind of lady, or a wear-'em-down middleweight male, make your way to Bazzaar for LOVE HANGOVER on Feb. 9. This night of sweet science includes chemistry-inspiring complimentary Peroni and music from Eleven50's DJ Rachael. Show your love by putting in for charity raffles with prizes for spa visits, clothes and an exclusive AlterEgo Pop Art piece (pictured). Free. 8 p.m. 654 Peachtree St. 404-885-7505. www.bazzaaratlanta.com. (T. LaGon)

Those who want to remind themselves that true love is nothing but doomed can take solace in Shakespeare Tavern's current production of Romeo and Juliet, while those who are more romantic at heart would do well to check out the Alliance Theatre's world premiere adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. Romeo and Juliet: $16-$32. Thurs.-Sat., 7:30 p.m.; Sun., 6:30 p.m.; Mon.-Tues., Feb. 13-14, 7:30 p.m. 499 Peachtree St. 404-874-5299. www.shakespearetavern.com. Pride & Prejudice: $25-$45. Through Feb. 12. Thurs.-Fri., 8 p.m.; Sat., 2:30 and 8 p.m.; Sun., 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. 1280 Peachtree St. 404-733-5000. www.alliancetheatre.org. (Curt Holman)

Synchronicity Theatre presents its Valentine's Day cabaret Love Me, Love Me Not on Feb. 12. The third annual benefit for the theater group features people about town, including hairdresser Richie Arpino, Jennifer Levison (who you know as Souper Jenny) and Mitchell Anderson of MetroFresh performing songs and dances about desire, passion and contempt alongside Synchronicity's own talents. A silent auction also will be held. $40-$150. 6 p.m. Balzer Theatre at Herrens, 84 Luckie St. 404-325-5168. www.synchrotheatre.com. (LB)

And for the resentful, there are two Bitter Balls just for you. Q100's "The Bert Show" satisfies the needs of the single and straight with its party at hook-up heaven Vision on FEB. 11. Red Chair's decidedly more gay-friendly evening FEB. 14 features Connie Casserole spinning bitter beats. Q100: $15. 8 p.m. 1068 Peachtree St. 404-874-4460. www.allthehitsq100.com. Red Chair: Call for price. 10 p.m. 550-C Amsterdam Ave. 404-870-0532. www.redchairatlanta.com. (LB)
