The Blotter: Medication mayhem

Oxycodone pills appeared to trigger a fight between a 70-year-old man and his live-in girlfriend at their Westside apartment. The man called police and said his decades-younger girlfriend swiped his pills after a dispute. He said he just filled his prescription for 120 Oxycodone pills and put them in the pocket of his jacket, which he placed on his recliner in the living room. He said he left to go pay their rent. While he was gone his girlfriend alledgedly snooped into his jacket pocket and took his Oxycodone stash. “After looking through numerous drawers, it was found that [the man] had several old prescription bottles both empty and partially full of various types of medication,” an officer noted. “When asked why he hadn’t gotten rid of or taken the medication prescribed to him, he told me that he didn’t need some of it.”

The girlfriend denied taking the 0xycodone and said the whole fight wasn’t really about his pills. Instead, she said her 70-year-old lover was upset because she “took apart his penis pump” and hid it in various locations around the apartment. She said he’s furious about his missing penis pump so he’s trying to get her arrested.

Crappy situation

Cops spotted a romantic couple fighting in the parking lot of Peachtree Center Mall. As the cops got closer, they saw the girlfriend “crouched down in the corner, defecating on the ground,” an officer wrote. Cops ordered her to come out from the corner. The girlfriend replied, “Officer can I please wipe first?” Cops arrested the girlfriend, 36, for pooping in public and took her to jail.

Breaking up bad

In West End, a 28-year-old woman said her now ex-boyfriend still has her iPhone, so she went to his home to get it back and return some of his belongings. The ex-girlfriend knocked on the front door and his mother answered and said he wasn’t home. Moments later, the ex-boyfriend pulled up in an SUV. The ex-girlfriend asked for her iPhone and he said he already threw it out the window. “[The ex-girlfriend] said she then threw the ex-boyfriend’s sweater on the ground in a puddle of water and spat in three pairs of his Jordan tennis shoes,” a cop noted. Then the ex-boyfriend “took her keys and threw them across the street and took her iPad and threw it on the concrete ground in a puddle of water.” His mother made him return her car keys. Then the exes got into a tussle.

Cops traced the woman’s missing iPhone, which started beeping inside the ex-boyfriend’s SUV. He was promptly arrested and she was charged for disorderly conduct. The ex-girlfriend asked police to remove her brown purse from her car and check it into police security so it wouldn’t get stolen. While handling the brown purse a cop smelled “a scent of raw marijuana” and found two baggies of pot inside, so the ex-girlfriend also received a drug possession charge.

Uneven explanation

On the Westside, a red pickup truck wasn’t moving at intersection of Chattahoochee Avenue and Marietta Boulevard. A police officer noted the driver, a 47-year-old man, was “slumped over the wheel of his truck ... passed out” with his passenger “laying with her head on his lap.” The keys were in the ignition and the driver’s foot was on the brake. Apparently, the pickup truck had stalled out. At first, the driver said he hadn’t had a single drink. After he staggered from his pickup truck to the sidewalk, the driver admitted to “two drinks, two beers.” The cop asked the driver to do a sobriety test. Nope, the driver responded, explaining that sobriety tests wouldn’t work on him because he was on medication — Xanax and Ambien — and one of his legs was longer than the other. He went to jail, charged with DUI, reckless driving, and impeding traffic.

Pungent revenge

In East Atlanta, a 20-year-old woman got into a fight with her boyfriend inside a brown minivan. Apparently, the woman wanted her boyfriend to take her home, but he refused to do so. While he was driving, the woman threw her Styrofoam plate of food at him. She said this upset her boyfriend, so he pulled over. She said she took a swing at her boyfriend but missed him. This upset him even more and he reached into the minivan, grabbed a bottle of Pine Glo ammonia, and poured it on her.

The woman refused medical aid, saying her skin had a slight burning sensation and her eyes tingled a little right after he poured ammonia on her, but she was otherwise OK.

The boyfriend’s side of story: He said the girlfriend wanted to go home to get her headphones, and she tried to make him crash the minivan, threw a Styrofoam plate of food on his chest, and when she took a swing, she did not miss — she punched him in the face. He said this made him snap, so he grabbed the ammonia bottle and poured it all over her. Both went to jail for assault. Cops checked the girlfriend’s pockets and found two baggies of suspected marijuana. Add a drug charge for her, too.
