MONDAY, AUGUST 20

MADONNA -- See listing for Sun., Aug 19. Philips Arena (Sarig)

PEACHES, HAR MAR SUPERSTAR, WORLD PROVIDER -- There's only one peach with a hole in the middle, and this foul-mouthed firebrand in trashy lingerie wants to fill all your holes, starting with the earhole. See Peaches article, p. 78. Har Mar Superstar, also known as Sean Na Na, is like rolling Woody Allen and a cheesy '70s porno star into a stoned dorm-room rapper. World Provider also performs. MJQ Concourse (Ware)

RHYTHM OF BLACK LINES, MASERATI -- Austin three-piece Rhythm of Black Lines play tense instrumentals that drive forcefully before fluidly whipping around corners. Growing out of a fertile prog-math rock scene, ROBL are helping make angular post-punk the new classic rock. Maserati are a joint Athens/Atlanta four-piece instrumental outfit recently returned from touring and sporting a recent CD, 37:39:24. They explore sound from a base of steady indie rockin' rhythm. The Earl (Ware)

JILL SCOTT -- If you really mean to live, you've got to see soul star Jill Scott in person. The Temple U grad provides one of the most engaging shows this summer, with just a bright smile, her multi-textured voice and those poetic verses spun into song. Chastain Park Amphitheatre (Noelzine)
