Moore's Ford Bridge lynching re-enactment
July 25, 2011
The weather on this beautiful late-summer Saturday did not reflect the actions being re-enacted on this day. July 25, 2011, marks the 65th anniversary of two African-American couples, one of which was seven months pregnant, being dragged out of their car, beaten and shot to death at Moore's Ford Bridge in Monroe. For the seventh year in a row, a group of citizens re-enacted this dark day in Walton County's history in order to bring attention to the fact that this case has yet to be solved.
