Music: Bad Brains

Wednesday, March 4

Original Rasta punks BAD BRAINS are back on the war path, touring behind their latest and surprisingly visceral resurrection album, Build a Nation. The group came into being during Washington, D.C.'s punk heyday circa the late 1970s, and helped define the whiplash charge of American hardcore in the 1980s. Feral vocalist H.R. set a universal precedent for the band's energy by walking a fine line between manic genius and genuinely dangerous wild man. The group proves that even after so many years, its songs and frenzied performances are as timeless and iconic as they were in the Reagan era. $20. 7 p.m. Masquerade, 695 North Ave. 404-577-8178.
