See & Do - Music: Band of Horses October 10 2007

Sun., Oct. 14

Since forming from the ashes of Carissa’s Wierd three years ago, BAND OF HORSES has led a charmed life to complement its epic rock ballads. Its 2006 debut, Everything All the Time, was a college-radio smash; a new album, Cease to Begin, arrived earlier this week. Musically, Band of Horses isn’t revolutionary – its yearning, reverb-heavy songs, full of cascading guitar and echoing vocals, sound familiar and comforting. It’s a combination fans seem to like. Tyler Ramsey and Estates open the Sun., OCT. 14, free concert. 7 p.m. Park Tavern, 500 10th St. 404-249-0001. www.parktavern.com.
