See & Do - Music: Cobra Starship August 17 2009

Wed., Aug. 19

With catchy songs about snakes on a plane and loving a girl so much you lock her in your basement away from the rest of the world, COBRA STARSHIP has exploded in the pop/emo scene ever since its debut only a few years back. Maybe it’s the messy but cutesy attire, or the bounty of energy the group brings to the stage with its dance-pop songs, or the “I Kissed a Boy” rendition of Katy Perry’s original. Whatever it is, the new album, Hot Mess, and latest single, “Good Girls Go Bad,” only add to the craze. Friday Night Boys, the Plasticines and Skeet Skeet open. Sold out. 7 p.m. Vinyl, 1374 W. Peachtree St. 404-885-1365. www.vinylatlanta.com.
