Music: De Novo Dahl

Sat., March 8

Put on your dancin' shoes, people; DE NOVO DAHL is coming to town. Like Willy Wonka's train of thought, the Nashville five-piece is all over the place. (The group is actually named after the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory author – de novo translating to "the new" in Latin). It's a mashup of '70s funk, tribal beats, disco-era vocals and a new-wave danciness. Appropriately, Dave Fridmann and Tony Doogan, who've worked with the Flaming Lips and Super Furry Animals, respectively, mixed Move Every Muscle, Make Every Sound, the new album due out March 25. The band hits Atlanta Sat., MARCH 8, performing on the same bill as Jesse Malin at Smith's Olde Bar. $12. 6 p.m. 1578 Piedmont Ave. 404-875-1522.
