Music: Devil Stole the Beat

Thurs., Feb. 15

Now in its sixth year, the DEVIL STOLE THE BEAT showcase draws people together for three nights of sweet music making. The opening-night party Wed., Feb. 14, was invite-only, but from Thurs., FEB. 15, through Fri., Feb. 16, more than a dozen bands play for the public. Headlining acts include Right Away, Great Captain! and Charleston, S.C.'s the Working Title on Thursday, and Warren Ullom and Dead Confederate (pictured) on Friday. Competing music publishers BMI and ASCAP co-sponsor the event, which is sort of like if Apple and Microsoft had a computer love child. $6-$10. 8 p.m. Smith's Olde Bar, 1580 Piedmont Ave. 404-875-1522.
