JAY REATARD is the hardest-working long-hair in the punk-rock game. When the Memphis maniac comes though town with his latest Matador Records full-length, Watch Me Fall, he’ll be playing with a new lineup that features Anders Thode and Jacob Elving from Danish punk band Cola Freaks manning the bass and drums. By all accounts, it’s the strongest lineup he’s played with yet, so expect nothing less than an evening of social anxiety and good, old-fashioned angst and aggression channeled into a whiplash set of noisy, power-chord punk and pop anthems.
