Philadelphia singer/songwriter JILL SCOTT has been a prime force in soul music throughout the last decade. Her 2000 debut, Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1, established her artistic influence, her widely imitated gale of a voice, and her strong, moralistic female perspective. A third album released last year, The Real Thing, Words and Sounds Vol. 3, turned her image on its head, and showed that she was capable of sadness as well as pride. She brings along Raheem DeVaughn, another accomplished soul artist, when she plays the Fox Theatre Fri.-Sat., FEB. 22-23. For more on DeVaughn, click here. $45-$100. 8 p.m. 660 Peachtree St. 404-881-2100. www.foxtheatre.org.
