Music: José González

Sun., March 2

Born in Sweden to Argentine parents, musician and former biochem major JOSÉ GONZÁLEZ serenaded his way into mainstream consciousness back in 2005 with his debut album Veneer. His soft, acoustic-folk renditions of such classics as the Boss' "Born in the USA" and Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" at live shows garnered as much positive attention as his original compositions. He released his follow-up, In Our Nature, last September. José González performs at the Variety Playhouse Sun., MARCH 2. $15-$17.50. 8 p.m. 1099 Euclid Ave. 404-524-7354. www.variety-playhouse.com.
