For the past several years, Atlanta radio personality Ken Batie had celebrated his birthday with a party starring several prime soul and jazz artists. Although Batie sadly passed away Feb. 12, the show goes on, thanks to his business partner and friend Ken Rye. Named after Batie’s WCLK-FM (91.9) radio show, the HOT ICE CONCERT takes place Thurs., APRIL 12, at Center Stage. Performers include fusion pioneer Roy Ayers (pictured), vocalist Maysa Leak (best known for her work with Incognito), saxophonist Mike Phillips, guitarist/singer Anthony David, percussionist and one-time Sting collaborator Vinx, and violinist Ken Ford.
