Music: Nick Oliveri

Thurs., Jan. 28

Since being ousted from Queens of the Stone Age in 2004, bassist NICK OLIVERI has appeared alongside several acts, including Turbonegro, the Knives, and his own group, Mondo Generator. These days, he does the solo acoustic thing, but he's not aping the sensitive songwriter shtick. His latest offering, Death Acoustic, is filled with brutal strumming that's led by his naked and somewhat psychotic yowl. When he sings, "I do crystal methane by the boatload," in his cover of GG Allin's "Outlaw Scumfuc," it doesn't sound like he's making it up. Royal Thunder, CanCan, and Spirits and the Melchizedek Children open. $10. 9 p.m. Lenny's Bar, 486 Decatur St. 404-577-7721.
