The Blood Brothers had the right idea in changing their name and taking a hard left turn away from their particularly acerbic brand of post-post-hardcore freak-outs. PAST LIVES’ debut, Tapestry of Webs, finds most of the group reincarnated, with many of the telltale vocal and sonic fingerprints that have always made them stand apart, but wielded with subtlety and dark, lingering art-rock tension.
