Music: Reel Big Fish

Friday, July 24

Even though 1997 was the only year third-wave ska really made it into the mainstream, REEL BIG FISH still has a devoted underground following 12 years later. With 11 albums, countless live shows and an infectious horn section, this Southern California band carries the same persona and sound it did during ska mania more than a decade ago. Its latest album, Fame, Fortune, and Fornication, showcases a list of classic-rock covers with an upbeat ska twist such as Poison's "Talk Dirty to Me" and Tom Petty's "Don't Back Down." The English Beat, Supervillains and Groovestain open. $23. 6:30 p.m. The Masquerade, 695 North Ave. 404-577-8178.
