Music: Rufus Wainwright

Mon., Aug. 13

Singer/songwriter RUFUS WAINWRIGHT's musical pedigree includes folk-musician parents Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle. The lifelong musician also relished opera and more classical sounds as a youth. Listeners can still detect the theatrical influences mingling with more pop- and rock-oriented sounds on all five of his albums. Wainwright comes to Atlanta Mon., AUG. 13, to support his most recent record, 2007's Release the Stars. Neko Case and A Fine Frenzy round out the night's lineup. $26.50-$30. 8 p.m. The Tabernacle, 152 Luckie St. 404-659-9022. www.ticketmaster.com.
