Houston improv fixtures David Dove (trombone) and Lucas Gorham (guitar, lap steel, effects, loops) present SCREWED ANTHOLOGIES, a musical/visual exhibition and lecture that pays homage to the "screwed and chopped" DJ style developed by the late, great DJ Screw in Houston during the '90s. Of course, Dove's and Gorham's take on the music is a slightly skewed angle, but they challenge the norms of conventional musical ideologies via tempos, time-stretching and beat-skipping while adopting screwed music's Robitussin slur to affect their own sound. Athens' Appalachian trance-metal guitarist Killick also performs. $8. 9 p.m. Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery, 290 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive S.E., Suite 8. 404-522-0655. www.eyedrum.org.
