Atlanta-based musician SHANNON WRIGHT writes stark, sometimes cryptic lyrics of love and betrayal. From her 2002 watermark Dyed in the Wool to last year's Let in the Light, Wright's albums sound baroque, with only the push-pull of rhythm guitar, bass and drums accompanying her girlish yet questioning voice. The stripped-down music allows her songs to come into full view. She plays the Earl Thurs., FEB. 21. $8-$10. 9 p.m. 488 Flat Shoals Road. 404-522-3950. www.badearl.com.
