Music: the Points

Wednesday, Feb. 25

Washington, D.C., outfit the POINTS wield a visceral concoction of Ramones-style punk-rock songs that are ramped-up, fast, simple and oh-so-catchy. Local band the Long Shadows celebrate the release of their second self-released 7-inch. The Decatur trio plays melodic, SST-era-inspired folkie punk jams. Thee Crucials play a whir of retro garage/punk. Austell trio Coffin Bound adds a darker touch to the lineup as the group reels through creepy, swampy, punk-rock sounds. $8. 8:30 p.m. The Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-522-3950. www.badearl.com.
