See & Do - Music: Travis July 25 2007

Sun., July 29

Formed in Scotland and still based in the U.K., TRAVIS has demonstrated a knack for tasteful melodies throughout its career, along with the occasional classic. Remember its best album, 1999’s The Man Who? Cuts such as “Why Does It Always Rain on Me” sounded so sweet and melancholy, like a Radiohead ballad without the affectations. Nearly a decade later and following a three-year hiatus, Travis has returned with a new album, The Boy with No Name. Wintry-voiced Alabama singer/songwriter John Paul White opens the Sun., JULY 29, show. $26.50. 8 p.m. The Tabernacle, 152 Luckie St. 404-659-2022. www.ticketmaster.com.
