Music: Wolves in the Throne Room

Tues., June 2

The Olympia, Wash.-based forest-dwelling trio WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM blaze through Atlanta in support of their latest epic-length EP of "green metal" dirge, Black Cascade (Southern Lord). With this release, the Wolves unveil a heavy opus of scorched-earth metal grind and analog textures that envelop the group's malevolently pro-ecological rituals in the battle of man against nature, all the while obscuring any true motives in a droning and antagonistic wall of sound. The group's more urban-minded contemporaries, New York-based metal acts Storm of Light and Krallice, open the show. $10-$12. 8:30 p.m. The Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-522-3950. www.badearl.com.
