Now I Lay Me...

When: Wednesdays-Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Thu., Aug. 9, 7-10 p.m. Continues through Sept. 1 2012
Artist Charlie Brouwer uses Ernest Hemingway’s short story “Now I Lay Me” as inspiration for his latest exhibition at Whitespace Gallery. Now I Lay Me... is a collection of drawings and paintings that investigate and re-create childhood memories through muted colors, capturing the mood of fading memories. In addition, Brouwer’s exhibition will feature an installation of a wooden figure reclining on 20 old white-stained orchard ladders, recalling his childhood memories with his grandfather in the countryside.
