With a knack for the six-minute psych jam and either the best or worst band name ever (depending on my mood) comes Pocahaunted, one in a string of wildly prolific groups from the lively Los Angeles underground. At its core, Pocahaunted is Amanda Brown and Bethany Cosentino, but the live band has recently expanded to include folks like Sun Araw's Cameron Stallones. Stallones' prints are all over Make it Real, the band's latest LP on Not Not Fun: The group's sound has expanded from primordial drone to fleshy funk, drawing on dub influences to create an awesome throwback record for the unruly ages.
