Profile - Pretty in peach

A quick look at Atlanta’s fashion sense

Top: Her pieced-together outfit began with a simple desire to wear this peachy-bright Rebecca Beeson tank. “T-shirts are my favorite start to an outfit.” This one was purchased at Loehmann’s for about $17.

Skirt: With Paris Hilton media-mania, it may seem like flirty, flippy miniskirts are an of-the-moment phenomena. Not true, says Joanna. “I got this skirt two years ago at Level 10 for $15. I love the little schoolgirl look, but mostly it matched the peach tee, so it worked for me.”

Tights: Ironically, the skirt is not to show off her legs. “I hate my legs, so tights are a must no matter what.” Having had this sparkly pair since she was in high school, they’ve practically reached modern-vintage status.

Legwarmers: Speaking of modern vintage, Joanna rocks a pair of $7 Target legwarmers for highly practical reasons. “I hate my skinny ankles. It’s also been said that I refuse to let go of ’80s style, which is probably true.”

Shoes: Those legwarmers also serve another purpose. “I got these boots from Sushi Clothing Company, where I used to work, for $69. They’re the cheesy J-Lo boots, but I try and cover the trendiness with my legwarmers!”
