Really indie

For the third year in a row, Eric Panter and the folks at the ATLANTA UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL have curated a kooky roster of shorts, features, documentaries and animation (Roboctopus pictured right) for this year's event, AUG. 23-27. The topics covered are as diverse as feminist pornography (Hot and Bothered), he said/she said teenage courting rituals (Dance Party, USA), and a fiendishly hilarious Australian dark comedy musical about a transvestite home invasion (Nancy, Nancy). Join regional and national filmmakers in recognizing the movies you probably won't see anywhere else this year. $5-$30. Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery, 290 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Suite 8; The Drunken Unicorn, 736 Ponce De Leon Place; CineFest Theater, 66 Courtland St.
