While most of the players on Easy are fellow Austinites, the album pays its respects to Music City's finest, with guest harmonies from Alison Krauss, Vince Gill and "Soggy Bottom Boy" Dan Tyminski. In a poignant tribute, Willis covers the late Kirsty MacColl's "Don't Come the Cowboy With Me Sonny Jim!" -- a high point on an already great album.
It's always nice to see a great artist find her niche and create the type of music that comes from deep in the soul. Sometimes the journey to achieve that situation is a tough one, and only a few survive -- which is why it's so good to see Willis smile.
