The Center for Puppetry Arts takes a little visit to the North Pole with a detour to the Island of Misfit Toys in its world-premiere puppetry adaptation of RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. The always-impressive Jon Ludwig adapts and directs a new play based on the original 1964 TV special about Rudolph, Yukon Cornelius, Hermey the Elf, Charlie-in-the-Box, et al. Judging from Youtube clips, the puppets are dead ringers for the Rankin/Bass-animated originals. But hopefully not too exact, because that Abominable Snowman always scared me.
