The VIRGINIA-HIGHLAND SUMMERFEST on JUNE 2-3 is set up on Virginia Avenue with a juried artists' market, music stage, KidsFest, 5K Run and food vendors. Galleries in the area, including Aliya, Modern Primitive, Matre, Solomon Projects, Eclectic Electric and L. Nichole, are also hosting a gallery walk with catered food from local restaurants at selected locations 6-9 p.m. on June 2. Pets Are Loving Support's (P.A.L.S.) first-ever ARCHI-PET-TURE fundraising event will feature an auction of pet palaces like the "Bowwowhaus," "Cat-nap Castle" and the "Gay Purr--ee" designed by local and national design companies. The silent auction is ongoing at Phipps Plaza from JUNE 2-JUNE 10 with all proceeds benefiting P.A.L.S. to provide pet care services to metro Atlantans living with AIDS. The pandas aren't the only new kids on the block. Join over 5,000 children and their families at Zoo Atlanta on JUNE 2 for a BIRTHDAY PARTY AT THE ZOO. A celebration for the Baby and Preemie Alumni Clubs of Northside Hospital, the day will include panda viewing, gorilla and orangutan feedings, an elephant show and animal demonstrations. Another baby will be on board as well: Bahagia, the new Sumatran tiger cub. The event is open to all children who were born at Northside, who are members of the alumni club.
