SATURDAY/12

STELLAR GOSPEL MUSIC AWARDS -- Who better to help the gospel music community toast itself than bootylicious secular babes Destiny's Child? The sort of still together Fab Three are slated to wiggle their vocal chords (among other things) around traditional spiritual tunes. Luckily they'll be plenty of real gospel powerhouses like hosts Donnie McClurkin, Shirley Caesar and Yolanda Adams to truly steal the show. The event starts at 6:30 p.m., and will be broadcast in syndication through Feb. 10. For more info, call 404-523-6275. Atlanta Civic Center (Noelzine)

House party
The REVIVAL @ THE CHURCH's one-year anniversary happens JAN. 12. And that means seven hours worth of the best in house music, Afro-beats and soul rhythms. Held in the basement of an old Southern Baptist church, the event is non-smoking and alcohol free, and features vegetarian cuisine. DJ Kemit, DJ Mike Music and Philly's Rich Medina are some of those spinning until sunrise, with special performances by Julie Dexter and others. Purchase tickets in advance at Earwax Records and Everlasting Life Natural Foods Market. $10. 11 p.m.-6 a.m. The Church, 181 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. 404-925-5448. syweld@mindspring.com. -- JP

Truck show
We all need to get back to our redneck roots sometimes. Perhaps that's why last year's SUPERBOWL OF MOTORSPORTS sold out the Georgia Dome. The Ingles-sponsored event returns JAN. 12 with plenty of horsepower and big wheels to wow the crowd. Ten of the sport's major monster trucks -- including Grave Digger, Wolverine, Black Smith, High Roller, Little Tiger, Avenger and Reptoid -- compete in designated activities. $10-$20. 7:30 p.m. Georgia Dome, 1 Georgia Dome Drive. 404-249-6400. www.ticketmaster.com. -- JP

Children's theater
With a giant computer screen as a backdrop and Japanese anime-inspired costumes, the Alliance's PINOCCHIO 3.5 presents the classic like you've never seen it before. Written by Eric Coble and directed by Rosemary Newcott, the updated version of the tale of the puppet with designs on becoming a real boy makes its high-tech debut JAN. 12-FEB. 3. $12.50-$15. Sat. 2:30 and 7 p.m.; Sun. 2:30 and 5 p.m. Alliance Theatre Mainstage, Woodruff Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree St. 404-733-5000. www.alliancetheatre.org. -- JP
