Science: New Fernbank Exhibit

Alive and Kicking

Geckos, pythons and iguanas, oh my! Fernbank's new LIZARDS AND SNAKES: ALIVE! exhibit celebrates all things reptilian with a museum full of squamates. Alive! features more than 60 live lizards and snakes from five continents including a Burmese python, eastern water dragons, veiled chameleons (pictured) and something called a gila monster. Oh my, indeed. Avoid the opening-weekend crowds and visit Mon., FEB. 12, instead. Through Aug. 12. Free-$13. Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., noon-5 p.m. 767 Clifton Road. 404-929-6300. www.fernbankmuseum.org.
