Former Atlanta-based artist LIZ WEBER skipped town for Baltimore when the Savannah College of Art and Design took over her almost-alma mater, the Atlanta College of Art. She now works on a Baltimore-based ship, an experience that informs her paintings now on display at Beep Beep Gallery through Sun., JAN. 14. Her artwork suggests a woman straddling two worlds; expressing the range of her predilections from sailor-lady to artsy-girl. The paintings range from realistic to fantastic, some representing ships' masts and various seafaring vessels, while others show a distinctly girly edge, featuring fashiony, psychedelia-infused portraits of pretty girls.
