The other Barbara
One of Broadway's original divas, BARBARA COOK reprises her Tony-nominated show "Mostly Sondheim" DEC. 20-21 while in town for the holidays. It's Cook's first performance in her hometown in 12 years, and she continues to wow audiences with her clear, ringing soprano. The program includes Sondheim favorites, as well as songs the composer wishes he'd written. $44.50. 8 p.m. Ferst Center for the Arts, Georgia Tech, 349 Ferst Drive. 404-894-9600. www.ferstcenter.org.
Local entertainment lawyer Russell Carter's gathered his crew of music pals for the HOLIDAY MUSIC REVUE DEC. 18, featuring the Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, Josh Joplin, Fastball, the Jayhawks, Rhett Miller, Tift Merritt and Peter Stuart in a review-style concert. Although Amy and Emily are the official headlining act, any of these bands could gather a sizeable acoustic-friendly crowd in their own right. Look for solo sets along with collaborative jams amongst the performers. $25-$36.50. Doors at 7:30 p.m. The Tabernacle, 152 Luckie St. 404-659-9022.
