Awards
My baloney has a first name, it's O-S-C-A-R
When Hollywood pats itself on the back via the Academy Awards Feb. 27, the most suspense will come not from the honors themselves, but from the unscripted remarks. Host Chris Rock has already caught fire for calling the program a fashion show and wondering: "What straight black man watches the Oscars?" During the spectacle itself, we wonder: Will he speak out, or just joke about his own outspoken reputation?

We'll also be listening for shout-outs to the snubbed. If Sideways wins anything, how will Best Actor also-ran Paul Giamatti be saluted? If The Passion of the Christ gets any technical awards, will the winner thank God for Mel Gibson? Will any of the documentary winners or Rock himself acknowledge shut-out Michael Moore? If Million Dollar Baby's awards momentum carries the day, will Clint Eastwood acknowledge Best Director rival Martin Scorsese? And will Hilary Swank remind Annette Bening that it's the second time she beat her for Best Actress? Broadcasts at 8 p.m. on ABC.
